Ever have one of those days where you wake up and it’s all about the money?
It’s showing up as the negative self-talk or the harsh internal dialogue that makes you anxious, nervous or even scared.
You second-guess all the money decisions you’ve made your whole life that have led you to the life you are living today…
You go round and round…
It feels like crap…
Your day is running totally amuck because you just can’t get out of your own stinking thinking…
This negative dialogue you’re having with yourself is affecting every part of your day…
And on top of it you are worrying about tomorrow, next week, next year – about events that haven’t even happened yet.
You are projecting negatively…
And it sucks…
Well, I just had one of those days. (LOL not so much…)
Let me tell you I was pretty darn uncomfortable in my own skin most, if not all, of the day… Until I remembered….
To go sit down…
Close my eyes…
Breathe…
Go inside…
And sit with what was really going on there…
I looked to my inner guidance system, my intuition, to clue me in as to why my day (which had been going just fine the day before) had been derailed.
And I realized… Oh…
I am afraid…
Well, now with the knowledge that I was afraid, my insides began to settle. I knew just what to do.
We all have emotional guidance systems. When we feel like crap, anxious or afraid… it is our guidance system telling us something is off and needs tending to, especially if it is around our money…
If we want to have a better day, and even a better life, it is vital we pay attention to these difficult days… and begin to trust that they have a message, and are here for a reason.
… To help us take action toward healing our souls dilemma
… that is showing up
… for our benefit
… at that moment.
Maybe to heal an old wound or to move us in a different direction.
We can start to move the needle away from financial fear by zooming out from the distress and focusing on the bigger picture of our life.
Become the observer, not the participant…
By zooming out and becoming the observer of the dilemma, we can distance ourselves a bit from the distress.
This may help to loosen the fear enough to get some clarity on identifying the “negative” – or “bad” – feeling message that is coming through.
After zooming out, here are some question or action steps to help identify what may be going on in your financial panic moment…
Stop, take a break, and take a few minutes for your inner self.
Is this really about your finances?
If yes, it is about your money, then pinpoint the issue/issues…
Things like:
- You have no financial plan.
- You have too much debt.
- You don’t know where all your money goes.
- You just made a big purchase like a house or car.
- You lost money in a bad investment, and you feel stupid or duped.
- Your income isn’t enough to cover your living expense
- You don’t trust your decisions around money, stick your head in the sand, and you carry on as if everything is okay, even when it is not.
Once you get clear on the financial fear, more specific action steps around your money tend to be pretty clear.
If and when you decide to take one or two immediate action steps and make a plan to take them, you should begin to move the needle away from financial fear into a neutral position or maybe into joy.
Once you identify steps and make plans but the fear needle doesn’t move?
Keep at it until you find the golden nugget of information inside this fear or anxiety. It is here now for a reason… so work like a dog with a bone until the message is clear…
Sometimes the overall anxiety is not based on real events. It is False Events Appearing Real-FEAR , in which case knowing that too should help.
The point is this…
These nudges of fear or just plain “bad feelings” are precious gifts to healing another layer of our soul’s edges around our
soul – money consciousness.
Now if you want to continue reading, here’s what I did to get to the bottom of my financial fear that day…
I talked to a Universal Power greater than myself and asked for clarity…
I was then led to be reminded of the history of my life, previous difficulties I had overcome – starting out as a
broke single mother with little income, no support and little education… My body starts to settle.
I remembered that even then, we always had everything we needed. We were always taken care of… My body
starts to settle even more
Then I was guided to look at where I am today, to see the cumulative effect of all my financial choices…
Ahhh, okay, this fear is not based in reality
I was reminded that I did make good choices even when they felt like huge mistakes. Yep, this is totally true, and
even in the mistake I learned so much
Then I became aware that…
I am living that day in which the False Events are Appearing Real and I am trying to force a solution to my
perceived problem – So why am I here now with this panic.
Then…..
I am guided by my inner voice to take different actions in a specific area of my life.
Bam…there is the Golden Nugget for me…to change course on my path.
The key for me to move the needle from that negative financial self-talk into internal peace was action.
I took the time to go inside, dig deep to find the discomfort so that I could learn from it, and move into a better-feeling place emotionally.
After that exercise, I moved back into peace and got really excited about my new path just revealed!
For you, this process and your actions steps may be entirely different… The key is to be willing to flow with what is happening right now and learn from it. To look for that Golden Nugget of information that is being shown to you, through discomfort… Search out what is the meaning…
Take action…
Then with the shift, feeling a new consciousness… a new awareness… comes in a new, deeper level of understanding…
Peace of mind knowing you’ve done your job in the exploration…
And a new, better day begins…
