Let’s Make It Fun!

You know how it feels when we have a chore we’d rather dodge?

We procrastinate, working on other things to keep us away from doing that one thing we know needs to be done…

All the while the undertone of conversations inside our head is telling us, “You gotta get this thing done.” And it kinda ruins the mood.

For most of us… that thing we avoid?

Our money.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we talk about money.

When did money become a chore and not the most exciting part of our journey?

Why isn’t making it more like sharing cool adventures over coffee than sitting through a boring lecture?

What if we looked at it as something exciting, like gearing up for a big adventure or leveling up in our favorite game?

Honestly, ’cuz that is what it can be and has been for me and my clients… And we’re having a blast!

How?

Step by small step. Here’s what we do:

Zero In on One Thing: You know how I’m all about keeping things chill and doable, right? Let’s apply that to our money game. Pick just one finance skill or habit to focus on a week. Just one! It’s like leveling up a skill in your life, but you choose the level that feels right for you. Start small and make it super easy.

Embrace the Learning Curve: If you’re thinking, “But I don’t know the first thing about finances!” then, my friend, welcome to the club. The cool part? There are tons of tools out there. Books that don’t bore you to tears, YouTube channels that actually make sense, and hey, don’t forget to slide into the DMs of someone (like me) who’s got their finance game on point.

Baby Steps for the Win: Tackle this one mini-mission at a time, one week at a time. Consistency pays off big! This week, maybe we decide to learn how to organize financial papers. What do we need to keep and what can be tossed? Simple. One thing. Small victories, folks! They add up, trust me.

Simplicity Rocks: Did I say simple again? Yep… let’s drive this point home. No need to complicate things. Simple plans stick. So, let’s set small, achievable goals and keep at them. One goal, one week. Simple. Consistency is our new best friend.

High-Fives and Hugs: This journey? It’s about progress, not perfection. Missed a goal? No biggie. When we stumble? Kindness and compassion are the secret sauce to making this work.

Small Steps, Big Wins. Small steps taken often add up, and add up fast… especially when it comes to our money. Never, ever underestimate the power of each simple step toward conquering your financial management skills.

The biggest thing?

It’s not about the money, it’s about the fulfillment we get when we get a chore done, and conquer a skill that’s been haunting us.

And we feel better.

Plus, when money worry is no longer a thing that zaps our energy, we can do some really cool things when we have it… and we step into the life of our dreams.
